The second half was a completely different beast. It was a back-and-forth affair. Both teams had chances, but the defenses held firm for a long time. I was on the edge of my seat, practically gnawing my nails off. I think I went through half a bag of chips, too! Around the 70th minute, Borussia II started pushing really hard. They clearly had more energy than us at that point. I was starting to worry – Warbeyen looked pretty tired.

Then, disaster struck. A silly mistake by our defense, and schwupps, 2-1 for Borussia II. My heart sank. It felt like the game was over. But I was wrong! In the 88th minute, a corner kick. Total chaos in the box. And then... Goal! A lucky deflection, but a goal nonetheless! 2-2. The stadium erupted again, a wave of pure relief and excitement washed over the crowd. The final whistle blew, and it was a 2-2 draw. A fair result, considering the flow of the game. Both teams deserved something out of it, I felt.

It was a crazy, action-packed match, full of twists and turns. Even though Warbeyen didn’t win, it was a great game to watch. These games are always so much more entertaining and intense because of the passion and energy displayed. A good reminder that football is a beautiful game, with its unpredictable nature and rollercoaster of emotions. Next time, though, Warbeyen needs to hold onto leads better.
